Legendary Maui, for whom our island is named, is the Hawaiian demigod said to have lifted the heavens from the earth so that man could walk tall. He slowed the sun’s path across the sky, and discovered the secret of fire.

As the sun sets upon one of the most magnificent beaches in the world, Maui Nui comes to life through an extraordinary lū`au experience. Across the Pailolo channel, the beautiful body of water before you, the islands of Moloka’i, Lana’i, and Kaho’olawe beckon to our beloved Maui.

For in ancient times these islands were the great land mass called Maui Nui, separated over time by thousands of years of erosion.
